Meet Our Crew

Niecia - Managing Partner

  • Hello, hello! I'm Niecia, co-owner of Rooted Yoga Studio and a fellow yoga enthusiast. My intention is to create a diverse, relational, and supportive space for us to "do life" together. Food and ridiculousness are my love language. Finding the funny in less than stellar situations is my superpower. I’m so jazzed that you're here and can't wait to connect with you on and off the mat.

AJ- Managing Partner

  • Hey, hey, everyone! I'm AJ, co-owner of Rooted. Fellas, it's not what you think. Yoga is for everyone - including men! I'd also put the practice into the proverbial "girly box." Then I began suffering severe back issues that required surgery. Yoga is now part of my weekly fitness routine. My quality of life is tremendously better as a result. I have experienced the benefits of yoga firsthand, which is why I didn't hesitate to support my wife's vision to open a studio. Come practice with us. Remember, it doesn't have to be complicated to be beneficial.

Candi

Faith

  • Hey, I’m Faith. My approach to yoga is playful, functional, and compassionate. With my 200HR holistic teacher training at Samadhi Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, India, ACE Fitness certification, and 300HR training, I enjoy offering simple and effective classes that will bring joy to your practice and a smile to your face. Let's flow and find your happiness!

Dali

  • Hello everyone! My name is Dali. I started practicing yoga as a way of taking care of myself after I had my son. I guide my classes as a way to reconnect with yourself along your journey. Yoga helps us learn new ways to understand changes with an open heart and an open mind. Let your practice guide your curiosity and creativity in helping you to expand your perspective in your daily life. I’m really excited to practice with you soon!

Jen

  • Hello everybody, I'm Jen. I came to yoga while managing significant health challenges. Yoga was so vital to my physical and mental healing that I felt compelled to share it with others. I offer a gentle, accessible practice that I hope will encourage you to continue your journey into the power of yoga.

Beyond the mat, I am working toward becoming a Yoga Therapist, and I enjoy baking- like a lot! I hope to see you in class soon.

Rebecca

  • Hi there! I'm Rebecca, a DC native who's returned to the area after a few years living abroad. Yoga has been integral to my self-care for over a decade.

On the mat, I offer a dynamic yet accessible mashup of hatha and vinyasa yoga. Off the mat, two little ones keep me on my toes. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, running, hiking, and being in nature. I'm excited to be part of your yoga practice.

Eutonna

  • Hi, my name is Eutonna ( pronounced 'you-tawn-uh'). It means fruitful and tranquil. I definitely feel joy & tranquility after a yoga session, whether taking or teaching it! There is joy in daily movement & laughter. Let's put our energy to good use by moving, laughing, and exploring yoga together.

Karen

  • Hey, I’m Karen Hamilton, a young at heart yoga enthusiast and practicing Reiki practitioner. I’ve been practicing for over twenty years and teaching for five. The most important thing that yoga has taught me is the beauty of always being a student. I love everything that comes from the practice especially meeting people and gaining new relationships. I hope to get to know you better as well.

Jason

  • Hi, I'm Jason. I first came to yoga to relax and find peace in a stressful world. As I continued my journey, I discovered that yoga is the perfect thread to connect all my passions! The keys to my fitness philosophy are building stability, increasing strength, and moving confidently. In addition to being a yoga teacher, I'm a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, corrective exercise specialist, and pickleball coach. I would be honored to participate in your yoga and fitness journey!

Kathy

  • Namaste! I'm Kat. I'm a passionate creator on and off the mat. I started my yoga journey in the DC area in 2002. While living in South Florida, it expanded to a deep yoga practice. I'm dedicated to helping humans understand the power of the breath to awaken to their healing journey through intentional, accessible, dynamic classes that go beyond poses. Off the mat, I design websites, enjoy water activities, explore trails, and spend time with my family.

Tippi

  • Hey, I'm Tippi! Yoga offers you a chance to enhance your overall health and wellness. I enjoy designing classes for those who may be new to yoga and for those needing to restore their bodies and instill calmness in their mindset. Let's practice!
